Costco Teriyaki Pork Sirloin Tip Roast

Pork … the other white meat!  Remember that ad campaign?  It actually speaks volumes cause a Pork Sirloin Tip Roast is 98% fat free and only has 100 calories per 4 ounce serving.  I really like the Kirkland Signature Swift Premium Pork Sirloin Tip Roasts sold at Costco.  It comes packaged in a 4-pack with each roast weighing about 2½ pounds.  Perfect for the two of us with just enough leftovers for a few delicious Pork sandwiches.  Who wouldn’t want to sample such a succulent Pork Roast?

For that wonderful Teriyaki flavor I highly recommend marinading the Pork Sirloin Tip Roast using Mr Yoshida’s Traditional Teriyaki Marinade & Cooking Sauce overnight.  SRG baked potatoes rubbed with Annie’s Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil are always a hit with any meal.  Used food grade silicone Cooking Bands to hold the shape of the pork roast.

Preheated the MAK 2 Star Wood Pellet BBQ Smoker-Grill to 250ºF with Pacific Pellet Gourmet Hickory Wood Pellets.  Hickory smoked the Teriyaki marinaded Pork Sirloin Tip Roast for 45 minutes.  Hickory and Apple are two of my favorite smoke flavors.  Pork is very receptive to smoke.  After smoking the roast for 45 minutes I bumped the temperature to 350ºF until the internal temperature of the roast reached 150ºF.  Rested the roast under a foil tent before carving against the grain and serving.

The Pork Sirloin Tip Roast took an hour and 45 minutes to go from an IT of 43ºF to 150ºF.  Remember that these numbers are for planning purposes only.  You should always cook to internal temperature.  Note how moist the roast is and the lovely smoke ring.
