have a Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner known in many circles as a New England Boiled Dinner.\u00a0 I find that Costco carries Corned Beef year round which allows us to enjoy this simple but delectable meal regularly.\u00a0 Corned Beef is a brisked cured in a salt brine with some pickling spices for added flavor.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-5715-1\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-5715-1-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-5715-1-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_black-studio-tinymce widget_black_studio_tinymce panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"2\" ><div class=\"textwidget\"><figure id=\"attachment_5707\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 800px\"><a \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">USDA Choice Corned Beef<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Two reasons I mostly buy my meat at Costco:\u00a0 1)\u00a0 They only carry USDA Choice and\/or Prime meats and 2) Their prices are extremely competitive.\u00a0 I've eaten many a Corned Beef over the years and many of them had fat caps in various degrees but this 3 lb Shenson Premium Cut Corned Beef Round brisket is a beautiful cut of meat.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-5715-1-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-5715-1-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_black-studio-tinymce widget_black_studio_tinymce panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"3\" ><div class=\"textwidget\"><figure id=\"attachment_5709\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">Boiled Corned Beef<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Using your largest pot cover the Corned Beef with an ample amount of water to hard simmer the brisket for 2\u00bd to 3 hours.\u00a0 Bring the brisket to boil before turning it down to a hard simmer.\u00a0 Keep in mind that you'll be using the same liquid to boil the cabbage, onions, carrots, and celery.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-5715-1-2\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-5715-1-2-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_black-studio-tinymce widget_black_studio_tinymce rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Thermapen Mk4 Thermometer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/thermapen-mk4-thermometer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Internal Temperature<\/a> (IT) to ensure your preferred taste.\u00a0 When smoking a brisket I always take it to an IT of 200\u00ba-210\u00baF and your boiled Corned Beef should be no different.\u00a0 After 3 hours the IT was 212\u00baF.\u00a0 Covered the brisket tightly with foil while the vegetables are boiled.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-5715-2\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" panel-last-child\" data-index=\"7\" ><div class=\"textwidget\"><p>Place quartered cabbage, onions, carrots, and celery into the same pot and liquid the Corned Beef was simmered in. Add liquid as required to make sure all vegetables are covered. Bring the vegetables to a hard boil.\u00a0 It normally takes about 45 minutes for the vegetables to be done.\u00a0 Steam the sweet potatoes for about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Most recipes call for the potatoes to be boiled with along with the cabbage and vegetables but I chose years ago to steam my potatoes instead of boiling them.\u00a0 Try it, you'll never boil your potatoes again.<\/p>\n<p>Slide the Boiled Corned Beef Brisket against the grain ...
