Dark Meat) which has 1g of carbs per serving.<\/p>\n<p>I prefer to use my own selection of dry rubs, marinades, and\/or brine solutions but experience has shown that pre-seasoned roasts and poultry provides wonderful alternatives.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Preheated the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a> Wood Pellet BBQ Smoker-Grill using Pacific Pellet Gourmet BBQ <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Premium 100% Hickory\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/premium-100-hickory\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Hickory<\/a> wood pellets to 180\u00baF (Smoke setting).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Turkey\/MAKsmokedTurkeyRoast10092013\/HerbTurkey1_zps94b1bdcc.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Turkey\/MAKsmokedTurkeyRoast10092013\/HerbTurkey1_zps94b1bdcc.jpg?resize=250%2C188\" width=\"250\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Turkey\/MAKsmokedTurkeyRoast10092013\/HerbTurkey2_zps39ef1fc0.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Turkey\/MAKsmokedTurkeyRoast10092013\/HerbTurkey2_zps39ef1fc0.jpg?resize=250%2C188\" width=\"250\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Smoked the Turkey Roast for an hour with <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Premium 100% Hickory\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/premium-100-hickory\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Hickory<\/a> wood BBQ Pellets.\u00a0 Increased the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a> pit temperature to 350\u00baF until the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Thermapen Mk4 Thermometer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/thermapen-mk4-thermometer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">internal temperature<\/a> of the Turkey Roast reached 170\u00baF.\u00a0 Rested the Turkey Roast under a foil tent for 20 minutes before serving.<\/p>\n<p>For estimating purposes:\u00a0 Total time was about 3\u00bd hours &#8230;\u00a0 \u00bd an hour to preheat &#8211; 1 hour of <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Premium 100% Hickory\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/premium-100-hickory\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">hickory<\/a> smoke (180\u00baF) &#8211; about 1\u00bd hours at 350\u00baF until <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Thermapen Mk4 Thermometer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/thermapen-mk4-thermometer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">internal temperature<\/a> reached 170\u00baF &#8211; try it.\u00a0 I think you&#8217;ll agree.\u00a0 The faux mashed potatoes recipe is fairly generic.\u00a0 Mash the cauliflower and then add salt\/pepper to taste, butter, and\/or heavy cream\/sour cream.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Turkey\/MAKsmokedTurkeyRoast10092013\/HerbTurkey7_zps25539f31.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Turkey\/MAKsmokedTurkeyRoast10092013\/HerbTurkey7_zps25539f31.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Turkey Roast was exceptionally moist and the Classic Herb marinade did not overpower the Turkey meat.\u00a0 My Low Carb plate consisted of faux mashed potatoes (mashed cauliflower), half an avocado, a small Caesar salad, and topped off with a Low Carb Mushroom White Sauce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Low Carb Mushroom White Sauce Ingredients<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 cups sliced mushrooms<\/li>\n<li>4 TBSP Butter<\/li>\n<li>2 TBSP <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/a><\/li>\n<li>4 cups Heavy Cream<\/li>\n<li>1 cup Sour Cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Melt the butter, add the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">EVOO<\/a>, and sliced mushrooms.\u00a0 Saut\u00e9 the mushrooms.\u00a0 Add the heavy cream &amp;
