{"id":395,"date":"2011-02-02T23:48:18","date_gmt":"2011-02-03T07:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/?p=395"},"modified":"2011-02-02T23:48:18","modified_gmt":"2011-02-03T07:48:18","slug":"srg-top-sirloin-shish-kabobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/srg-top-sirloin-shish-kabobs\/","title":{"rendered":"SRG Top Sirloin Shish Kabobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Starting to get the hang of this SRG gizmo <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forum.bradleysmoker.com\/Smileys\/default\/wink.gif\" alt=\"Wink\" border=\"0\" \/> Onward to bigger and better things.\u00a0 Tonight I decided to give my new Char-Broil SRG Kabob Set a try.\u00a0 The skewers have this cute little cotter pin that goes in the bottom to keep all your goodies on!\u00a0 Who would have thunk it?\u00a0 Seasoned the Top Sirloin yesterday with some <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Fagundes Seasoning\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/fagundes-seasoning\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Fagundes Seasoning<\/a> and kept it in the fridge overnight.\u00a0 Placed all the veggies in a ziplock bag and sprinkled them with some Roasted Garlic <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">EVOO<\/a> and a touch of <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Fagundes Seasoning\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/fagundes-seasoning\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Fagundes Seasoning<\/a>.\u00a0 This is quickly becoming my go to seasoning.\u00a0 It&#8217;s just plain good on everything &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Beef\/SRGkabob02022011\/kabob1.jpg?resize=480%2C360\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Skewered the meat and veggies in a random assortment and hung them in the basket.\u00a0 Who ever designed this kabob set did a great job.\u00a0 All dressed up and ready for the SRG.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Beef\/SRGkabob02022011\/kabob2.jpg?resize=480%2C360\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I read where I don&#8217;t need to preheat the SRG but old habits are hard to break so I preheated my SRG on HIGH for about 10 minutes before slapping these beauties in.\u00a0 Heat set to HIGH and the lid OPEN.\u00a0 Here they are roasting away 10 minutes into the cook.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Beef\/SRGkabob02022011\/kabob3.jpg?resize=480%2C360\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Never did find any posts on kabob cooking times or anything so I took an educated wild guess and picked a cooking time of 20 minutes since all the chunks of Top Sirloin and veggies are different sizes.\u00a0 Here they are after I pulled the kabobs.\u00a0 Learned that the curved veggies need to point down and not up cause I found that when they point up they trap juices from the cooking meat\u00a0 <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forum.bradleysmoker.com\/Smileys\/default\/undecided.gif\" alt=\"Undecided\" border=\"0\" \/> <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forum.bradleysmoker.com\/Smileys\/default\/smiley.gif\" alt=\"Smiley\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Beef\/SRGkabob02022011\/kabob4.jpg?resize=480%2C360\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The money $$hot &#8230; a couple of Top Sirloin Kabobs with a side of cole slaw to stay on track with my low carb meals.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Beef\/SRGkabob02022011\/kabob5.jpg?resize=480%2C360\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The meat was a nice medium rare but the red onions and red\/yellow\/green peppers were short of al dente.\u00a0 SWMBO said maybe I should try bigger chunks of meat next time which would give more cooking time and get those veggies cooked a bit more.\u00a0 All in all, these kabobs were fun and easy to make with the kabob set and the meal turned out wonderful.\u00a0 Can&#8217;t wait to do some more beef, chicken, and\/or port kabobs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Starting to get the hang of this SRG gizmo Onward to bigger and better things.\u00a0 Tonight I decided to give my new Char-Broil SRG Kabob Set a try.\u00a0 The skewers have this cute little cotter pin that goes in the &hellip;
