width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Doesn&#8217;t get any better than having one of our Sons and 2 of our 5 Grand Children over for a little sit down dinner.\u00a0 One of the Gran Children&#8217;s favorite dinner items is my <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Premium 100% Hickory\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/premium-100-hickory\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Hickory<\/a> Smoked Chicken Drumsticks and I didn&#8217;t want to disappoint them!\u00a0 I decided to test out an all purpose Beef and Chicken Seasoning that I&#8217;m developing to possibly market in the near future.\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Even though the cost of Poultry, like all other meats (Beef, Pork, Turkey, Fish) is constantly rising there are times when you can find unadvertised specials at your local grocery store.\u00a0 That&#8217;s what I found the other day &#8230; Chicken Quarters nearing their use by or freeze date were instantly marked down $3.\u00a0 I was able to buy 5 Chicken Quarters and 6 Drumsticks for under $7.\u00a0 Not a bad find!!<\/p>\n<p>When smoking\/cooking Poultry I always prefer that my Chicken has skin and bones and when seasoning Poultry I highly recommend pulling the skin back, rubbing the meat with a good <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/a>.\u00a0 Otherwise you&#8217;re only seasoning the skin which in our case is not eaten.\u00a0 I prefer to use Annie&#8217;s Roasted Garlic <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">EVOO<\/a> for that added flavor profile.\u00a0 Seasoned the Chicken liberally with my seasoning but you can use your favorite Poultry seasoning before replacing the skin.\u00a0 Lightly rub the Chicken skin with <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">EVOO<\/a> and the Poultry seasoning.\u00a0 Wrap in plastic\u00a0 and rest in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours before cooking.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKQuarters01282013\/Quarters1_zps25c30426.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKQuarters01282013\/Quarters1_zps25c30426.jpg?resize=250%2C188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Preheated the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a> Wood Pellet BBQ Smoker-Grill to 225\u00baF with Pacific Pellet Gourmet <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Premium 100% Hickory\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/premium-100-hickory\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Hickory<\/a> Wood Pellets. <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Premium 100% Hickory\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/premium-100-hickory\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Hickory<\/a> smoked the Chicken Quarters and Legs for an hour before bumping the MAK 2 pit temperature to 375\u00baF until the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Thermapen Mk4 Thermometer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/thermapen-mk4-thermometer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">internal temperature<\/a> of the Chicken dark meat reached 180\u00baF.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKQuarters01282013\/Quarters3_zps591e2823.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKQuarters01282013\/Quarters3_zps591e2823.jpg?resize=250%2C188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the Chicken Quarters and Legs reached an IT of 180\u00baF I rested them under a foil tent for 20 minutes before serving.\u00a0 Served the Chicken with Infrared Baked Potatoes in the SRG and a nice salad.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKQuarters01282013\/Quarters5_zpse08c5a63.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img
