\/><\/p>\n<p>Decided to test the flavor profiles of these Hazelnut Blend BBQ Pellets on a variety of meats starting with Chicken.\u00a0 Picked up some always fresh, never frozen Foster Farms Chickens at Costco for $1.09\/lb.\u00a0 A great price in today&#8217;s economy!!\u00a0 Trimmed and cut the chickens in half saving the livers and hearts to saut\u00e9 for the Chef !<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKHazelwoodHalf\/HazelwoodChicken1.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rubbed Annie&#8217;s Roasted Garlic <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">EVOO<\/a> and Jans Dry Rub under and on the Chicken skin.\u00a0 Applying the seasonings under the skin really enhances the flavor of chicken and gives you the option of not eating the skin without having to sacrifice the flavor profiles that the rubs provide.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKHazelwoodHalf\/HazelwoodChicken2.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Vacuumed sealed 3 pre-seasoned half chickens and froze them for future use.\u00a0 Wrapped the last half chicken with plastic wrap and refrigerated the chicken for 3 hours allowing the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">EVOO<\/a> and rub to perform their magic.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKHazelwoodHalf\/HazelwoodChicken3.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Set and Pre-heated the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a> General Wood Pellet BBQ Smoker-Grill to 180\u00baF which is the SMOKE Setpoint using Hazelnut Blend Pellets.\u00a0 As always I highly recommend the use of a digital meat temperature probe.\u00a0 All meats needs to be cooked to their respective Internal Temperatures (IT).\u00a0 Chicken Breasts need to be taken to at least 165\u00baF and the Leg\/Thighs (dark meat) to 180\u00baF.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKHazelwoodHalf\/HazelwoodChicken5.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Smoked the Chicken half for 2 hours at which time the breast was at 118\u00baF.\u00a0 Bumped the temperature of the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a> to 325\u00baF to finish the cook.\u00a0 Removed the Chicken when the breast IT reached 170\u00baF (my personal preference) and rested the Chicken under a foil tent for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Chicken\/MAKHazelwoodHalf\/HazelwoodChicken7.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Money $Shot$ &#8230; Hazelnut Smoked Chicken Breast served with Chicken Rice-a-Roni and steamed Broccoli &#8230;\u00a0 The chicken flavor profiles were reminiscent of a blend of Walnut and <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"CookinPellets Black Cherry\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/cookinpellets-cpbc40lb-100-black-cherry-pellets-cooking-brown\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Cherry<\/a>.\u00a0 Hard to put a handle on it but definitely very pleasing results!!<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\"
