Not a bad price for boneless these days! Cut each in half and trimmed some of the excess fat.\u00a0 Rubbed the 5 lb Pork Butts with Annie&#8217;s Roasted Garlic <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">EVOO<\/a>\u00a0 for the glue and Plowboys BBQ Bovine Bold before binding them with <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Silicone Hot Cooking Bands\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/silicone-hot-cooking-bands\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Cooking Bands<\/a>, and freezing the 2 <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/foodsaver-vacuum-sealer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">vacuum<\/a> sealed Butts.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Allowed one of the Pork Butts to defrost in the refrigerator for 3 days.\u00a0 Curious to see if per-seasoning, <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/foodsaver-vacuum-sealer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">vacuum<\/a> sealing, freezing, and thawing would have any noticeable affect on the cooking, texture, and taste.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/BBQ%20Smoke\/Pork\/MAKRoastedButt08172012\/ButtRoast1.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Preheated the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a> Wood Pellet BBQ Smoker-Grill to 375\u00baF using <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Premium 100% Hickory\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/premium-100-hickory\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Hickory<\/a> wood BBQ pellets.\u00a0 Since the Pork Butt is to be Roasted rather than Pulled there&#8217;s no need for the normal Low-and-Slow method.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/BBQ%20Smoke\/Pork\/MAKRoastedButt08172012\/ButtRoast2.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cooked at 375\u00baF until the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Thermapen Mk4 Thermometer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/thermapen-mk4-thermometer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Internal Temperature<\/a> (IT) reached 160\u00baF.\u00a0 Took 2\u00bd hours.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/BBQ%20Smoke\/Pork\/MAKRoastedButt08172012\/ButtRoast3.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Double wrapped the Pork Butt in foil and continued cooking until the IT reached 187\u00baF.\u00a0 Took another 40 minutes.\u00a0 Note:\u00a0 The <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Silicone Hot Cooking Bands\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/silicone-hot-cooking-bands\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Cooking Bands<\/a> really keeps the Boneless Pork Butt in one piece nicely.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/BBQ%20Smoke\/Pork\/MAKRoastedButt08172012\/ButtRoast4.jpg?resize=480%2C360\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, I cooked up some baked potatoes in the Infrared Char-Broil Smoker, Roaster, Grillon HIGH with the Lid Open until the potato IT reached 210\u00baF.\u00a0 Took 1\u00bd hours.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/BBQ%20Smoke\/Pork\/MAKRoastedButt08172012\/ButtRoast5.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After double foiling the Pork Butt it took another 30 minutes to reach the 187\u00baF IT.\u00a0 At this point I would have rested the meat for 30 minutes but it cooked quicker than expected.\u00a0 I chose to Foil, Towel, Microwave (FTM) rather than Foil, Towel, Cooler (FTC) for an hour cause I didn&#8217;t want to drag out the cooler.\u00a0 The microwave serves just as well but make sure you keep the door closed.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/BBQ%20Smoke\/Pork\/MAKRoastedButt08172012\/ButtRoast6.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sliced Roasted Pork Butt after a 1 hour FTM.\u00a0 Ready to serve!<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Money $Shot$ &#8230; Sliced Roasted Pork Butt, and Baked Potato with a side of Steamed Asparagus &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/BBQ%20Smoke\/Pork\/MAKRoastedButt08172012\/ButtRoast8.jpg?resize=512%2C384\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Discovered that per-seasoning, <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/foodsaver-vacuum-sealer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">vacuum<\/a> sealing, freezing, and thawing did not have any noticeable affect on the cooking, texture, and taste.\u00a0 The Pork was moist and succulent!!\u00a0 The best part is that since I was processing the Pork Butts anyway it saved me time and trouble down the road
