At 205\u00baF it does not lend itself anymore to being sliced - But at 187\u00baF the fat has started to render and it's not only perfect for slicing against the grain but the juicy results are exquisite and the roast is past the dreaded stall which occurs around 150\u00ba to 160\u00baF. You also don't need to spend 14 plus hours smoking\/cooking this roast. Instead, my recipe takes approximately 5 hours.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pork Butt Roast Prep<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use a 4 to 5 lb Pork Butt Roast<\/li>\n<li>Trim off the fat cap and any excess fat\/silver skin<\/li>\n<li>Rub the Butt Roast with roasted garlic <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">extra virgin olive oil<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Season the Butt Roast liberally with my <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Dry Rub Recipes\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/dry-rub-recipes\/\"
