So in order to compromise, I smoked three racks of St Louis style Spareribs using CookinPellets <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"CookinPellets Apple Mash\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/cookinpellets-apple-mash\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Apple Mash<\/a> Pellets and sauced one with Sweet Baby Ray's for her while keeping the other two au naturel ... I think that 2 racks to 1 is a good compromise - don't you?<\/p>\n<p>Ever wonder why ribs come in packages of 3? Anyway, started with 3 racks of St Louis Spareribs from Costco. If you have a Costco near you I highly recommend buying your meat and poultry from them. Their quality is excellent. If you haven't yet, you should pick up one or more rotisserie chickens ... Not only are the chickens huge and delicious but you can't beat the price ... I think it's a loss leader for them. I like to pry a spoon handle under the first rib bone, grab the membrane with a paper towel, and pull it off. A little practice and it'll become second nature to you. Rubbed all sides of the ribs with Roasted Garlic <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/a> and seasoned them lightly with my <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Dry Rub Recipes\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/dry-rub-recipes\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Pork Dry Rub<\/a> (page 169 of my cookbook, <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"The Wood Pellet Smoker and Grill Cookbook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/the-wood-pellet-smoker-and-grill-cookbook\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">The Wood Pellet Smoker and Grill Cookbook<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Preheated my <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a> to 180\u00baF using CookinPellets <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"CookinPellets Apple Mash\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/cookinpellets-apple-mash\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Apple Mash<\/a> pellets. Smoked the racks of St Louis Spareribs for an hour at 180\u00baF before bumping the pit temperature to 250\u00baF. Continued to smoke the ribs for 3 hours. At this point, the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Thermapen Mk4 Thermometer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/thermapen-mk4-thermometer\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">internal temperature<\/a> of the ribs approached 190\u00baF. Sauced one rack and returned the ribs to the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a>.\u00a0 Smoked the ribs at 250\u00baF for 30 minutes. Pulled the ribs and rested them loosely under a foil tent before serving.<\/p>\n<p>Pork and <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"CookinPellets Apple Mash\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/cookinpellets-apple-mash\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Apple<\/a> are an unbelievable combination and the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"CookinPellets Apple Mash\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/cookinpellets-apple-mash\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Apple Mash<\/a> pellets really make a difference.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I prefer my ribs naked but SWMBO likes hers sauced.
