{"id":1077,"date":"2011-08-07T11:18:18","date_gmt":"2011-08-07T19:18:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/?p=1077"},"modified":"2011-08-07T11:18:18","modified_gmt":"2011-08-07T19:18:18","slug":"pellet-grilled-lingcod","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/pellet-grilled-lingcod\/","title":{"rendered":"Wood Pellet Grilled Lingcod"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tom, my neighbor, went fishing at Half Moon Bay, CA with some friends for Lingcod and Rock fish and he kindly shared some fresh Lingcod with me.\u00a0 For those of you who may never have seen Lingcod filets you might be surprised to see that one filet is blueish green while the other is white.\u00a0 It&#8217;s comes down to different varieties of the fish.\u00a0 Not to worry, it&#8217;s all Great!!<\/p>\n<p>Spritzed both sides of the Lingcod filets with Annie&#8217;s Roasted Garlic <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/roasted-garlic-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">EVOO<\/a> and lightly sprinkled them with <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Fagundes Seasoning\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/fagundes-seasoning\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Fagundes Seasoning<\/a>.\u00a0 Preheated the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MAK Grills 2 Star General\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smokinpetebbq.com\/wordpress\/recommends\/mak-grills-2-star-general\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">MAK 2 Star<\/a> General Wood Pellet BBQ Smoker Grill to 400\u00baF using Alder wood BBQ pellets.\u00a0 Grilled the Lingcod for about 14 minutes at 400\u00baF until the fish flaked easily with a fork.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Seafood\/MAKLingCod08052011\/LingCod1.jpg?resize=480%2C360\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lingcod are almost primeval looking &#8211; huge, gaping mouths with sharp fang like teeth.\u00a0 Lingcod are native to the rocky shores of North American&#8217;s Pacific coast and offers a taste and succulence similar to halibut \u2014 it cooks up white, sweet and delicious, a great addition to many a meal.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to their name, they are not true cods, but are greenlings. Lingcod are voracious predators and can grow to weigh over 80 pounds (35 kg) and measure 60 inches (150 cm) in length.\u00a0 Their color is variable, usually with dark brown or copper blotches arranged in clusters.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i854.photobucket.com\/albums\/ab105\/papa_peter\/Seafood\/MAKLingCod08052011\/ling1.jpg?resize=461%2C346\" alt=\"\" width=\"461\" height=\"346\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Money $Shot$ &#8230;
