Delicious Chowders that serve as an Entrée for your family and friends are easier than some might think.  My Seafood Chowder Recipe is extremely easy and uses common ingredients that you’ll find at any grocery store.  If you decide to use classic recipes then search the internet and you’ll find many wonderful chowder recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 51 oz Ocean Chopped Clams
  • 46 oz Clam Juice
  • 1 lb Haddock or any other white fish
  • ½ lb Shrimp
  • ½ lb Scallops (optional)
  • Creamy Potato Soup Mix
  • 12 oz Carnation Evaporated Milk
  • Diced Celery, Red or Yellow Onion, and Potatoes
  • Crushed Garlic, 1 tsp Old Bay, Black Pepper, Parsley Flakes to taste

Instructions:

  • Measure the amount of Clam juice and liquid in chopped Clams.  You’ll need this information when adding the Creamy Potato Soup Mix
  • Combine Clam juice, chopped Clams, spices, diced Celery and Onion
  • Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes
  • Add diced potatoes and simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes until the potatoes are Al Dente
  • Add Fish, Shrimp, and Scallops
  • Bring to boil and wisk the proper portion of potato soup mix for the liquid used
  • Follow instructions on the Creamy Potato Soup Mix.  Most instructions will have you simmer the chowder for 15 minutes and I highly recommend that you stir the chowder frequently
  • Seafood Chowder is ready when the dehydrated potatoes in the soup mix are tender

Serve with Garlic Bread or a loaf of Roasted Garlic Bread from your local Bakery.  This hearty Seafood Chowder is quick, easy and will easily serve as an Entrée.
